The BROC-293 SMART OTDR is an all-in-one handheld fiber tester for FTTH build and maintenance. The 293D model runs at 1310/1550 nm with a 24/22 dB dynamic range and reaches up to 80 km on a 4.3-inch capacitive touch screen. Single-wavelength variants (1310/1550/1610/1625/1650 nm) are also available; the 1625/1650 nm units are the ones used for live / in-service testing, since that wavelength sits clear of the 1490/1550/1577 nm PON traffic. Beyond the OTDR trace and automatic event map it bundles an optical power meter, a 650 nm VFL (>=10 mW), a light source, an optical loss test and an RJ45 sequence tester. Records save in SOR format to USB or TF card; startup takes about 2 seconds.
